For our last project of 101 we had to create a webpage for the piece of text “ The Street of Crocodiles” We had to create a version of this using HTML/CSS and then another version on Framer.

Colour Palette

I decided to create this simple colour palette on Adobe Colour as I thought it was very suitable for the design on the webpage. I will use this both for my framer version as well as my HTML/CSS version.

Type

For my Type of choice I decided to work with Asul, Asul can be described as a baroque humanist typeface; it has semi-serifs and it is a type revival project developed for editorial use. It is based on a typeface found in some Argentinian books and magazines from the early 20th century.

It was designed by Mariela Monsalve was born in Argentina, and studied Graphic Design. She also studied there a postgraduate course on Typography. Among her typeface designs are Asul, Ruda, Oleo Script and Oleo Swash. She also develops typographical installations as part of a collective art group named DEFRENETICAS.

I decided to chose Asul as it is a clean font and reminds me of Baskerville which is very suitable for this piece of text as it is elegant as well as being highly legible.

I started off by creating my layout in Figma so I could then Import it across onto framer to make the process easier and see how my site would look prier.
