For our first project we have to create a Type Specimen Screen for our chosen font. It has to be displayed on a 1024×768 canvas (I PAD) , these were our choices for our fonts.
I decided to chose Times New Roman as it is very commonly used, mainly in Newspapers , most famously in the English Newspaper, The Times in 1931. Times New Roman is a serif typeface designed for use in body text. and designed by Stanley Morison and Victor Lardent. Times New Roman is a highly readable font and has been used extensively in print and digital media. It is considered a classic and timeless font, and is often used in formal or professional documents. The typeface has undergone several updates and variations over the years, but the original design remains still widely used throughout Newspapers.
Stanley Morison was a typographer and historian who was a key factor in the development of modern type design and typography. He was born in 1889. He worked as a freelance typographer and wrote several books on the history of printing and typography. He is best known for designing Times New Roman, a typeface that was created for The Times newspaper in 1931 and has since become one of the most widely used typefaces in the world. Morrison died in 1967.
Victor Lardent was born in London in 1891 and studied art at the London Royal College of Art. In addition to his work on Times New Roman, Lardent also designed several other typefaces and worked on other typographic projects for The Times. Lardent died in 1971.

I started by researching other Type specimen screens to see how they were displayed and also at other similar san serif fonts that were on the list of choices. This gave me some inspiration as well as an idea at what my end goal should be.
